Crazy fish sing
CRAZY FISH SING A SOUS RATURE OF STILL HERE
Crazy Fish Sing (Yogurt Editions, 2024) is a visual art book inspired by Suranga Katugampala's forthcoming film, Still Here. Navigating the experimental borders between noir and documentary, the project traces a journey from Colombo to Milan. By transporting the reader through real, imagined, and affective geographies, Crazy Fish Sing offers a rare perspective on the film’s creation, exploring profound themes of cultural hybridity, urbanization, and contemporary realism.

SPECIAL PROJECT #02
Shrapnel
Shrapnel (by Simone Brioni) is a profound reflection on the Piazza della Loggia massacre and its lingering echoes in contemporary Italy. By weaving together historical precision and affective inquiry, Brioni examines the "shrapnel" of a trauma that refuses to be silenced. This work challenges the boundaries between public history and private grief, offering a vital contribution to the understanding of political violence and the persistent struggle for justice.
In 2024, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Piazza della Loggia massacre, 5e6 and the Centro Teatrale Bresciano—with the support of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and in collaboration with Casa della Memoria and the Municipality of Brescia—produced "Non perché c’eravamo" (Not Because We Were There), a film directed by Paolo Bignamini and Marco Jeannin that navigates the intersection of cinema and theatre.
A film is a fragile work of art; it demands care and continued attention. We could not accept that, once the anniversary passed, the project would fade into silence. We found ourselves asking how to give this work a new life—how to allow it to travel beyond the borders of our city.
In collaboration with Simone Brioni and Casa della Memoria, we conceived this editorial project as part of a broader vision: to bring "Non perché c’eravamo" to a global audience, ensuring that the memory of those events continues to live and challenge us.
"Shrapnel" is a book designed for an international public. It serves as an introduction to the film while exploring the profound significance, memory, and legacy of the Piazza della Loggia massacre. The work reflects on the evocative power of the photographs from that tragic day, the testimony they offer to those who were not present, and the kind of society those images invite us to imagine and build.
