SYNOPSIS
The accidental discovery of a small box of photographs, taken in 1930s Italian East Africa by a distant relative, sparks a broader reflection on the imperial gaze, its construction of the "other" and the "elsewhere," and its enduring legacy. Through a narrative that weaves together personal reflection and collective history—shared by both colonizer and colonized—this documentary invites viewers to look "beyond the edges" of colonial photography.
